Changing downlights

Downlights are one of the most common fittings we change, especially replacing old, hot, power-hungry halogen downlights with efficient LED. We check the existing transformers for compatibility (a common cause of flickering), replace the fittings with quality LED downlights, and dispose of the old globes. Doing several at once brings the per-light cost down, and in some states energy-saver schemes can heavily discount the upgrade. We use IC-rated downlights where they meet insulation, which are safe to be covered. The result is brighter, cooler, cheaper, flicker-free lighting. If your downlights are old halogens, or some have failed, changing them to LED is a worthwhile, efficient upgrade.

Changing to a fan or fan-light

Sometimes changing a light means replacing a plain light fitting with something more useful, such as a ceiling fan or a combined fan-light, which is popular in bedrooms and living areas for year-round comfort as well as lighting. Where there is an existing central light point, we can often replace it with a fan or fan-light, using the existing wiring and point, and set up the controls.
